What to Expect: Your Personalized Senior Experience
Senior portraits should be more than just a photo shoot. At Dreamscape Studios, I believe they should be an unforgettable part of your senior year — creative, stress-free, and completely personalized to reflect your story.
Whether you’re a parent helping your teen prepare for this milestone or a senior with big ideas for your shoot, this page will walk you through what to expect at each step. My process is designed to get to know who you are, create a plan that fits your style and schedule, and deliver bold, unique images you’ll love for years. Dreamscape Studios provides senior photography for Delaware (Newark, Wilmington, Middletown, Dover) and also Chester County, PA.

Before the Shoot

Inquiry and Senior Survey
Once a parent books a consultation through my website, you and your senior will receive a detailed survey. This helps me get to know your style, preferences, and vision for the session. You’ll see questions like “What’s your dream shot?” and “If you could be in an ad for any brand, what would it be?” — fun prompts that spark ideas and help me understand what matters most to you. Based on your answers, I’ll recommend the session package that best fits your vision.

Consultation Call
On the date and time you selected, we’ll talk through the details. We’ll go over the different packages and optional add-ons, and we’ll also chat about the ideas you shared in the senior survey. Consultations can be done by phone or, if you’d prefer, in person at a local coffee or sandwich shop. I recommend that both the senior and a parent join so we can all brainstorm together and stay on the same page.

Customizing Your Session for You
After hearing your ideas, we’ll create a personalized plan. Whether that means a single session or a multi-session package with creative add-ons, the goal is to design something that brings your personality to life. I offer a range of options to suit different budgets and styles — we’ll choose what works best for you.

Schedule and Deposit
Once we’ve finalized your session details, we’ll pick dates and get everything scheduled. A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your spots on my calendar, but don’t worry — it goes toward your total session cost. The remaining balance is due at least 24 hours before each scheduled shoot.

Outfits and Location
Here’s where we really bring the session to life. We’ll plan out your outfits and locations based on the look and feel you want. Want something casual and fun? Bold and styled? Something in between? We’ll look at inspiration together, choose spots that match your vibe, and build a session that feels authentically you.

What to Expect on Shoot Day
The big day is finally here — it’s time for your custom Senior Experience photoshoot!
Thanks to all our planning, you’ll show up feeling totally prepared. We’ve already gotten to know each other a bit, so you can relax and be yourself — not like you’re meeting your photographer for the first time.
When we meet, I’ll give you a quick rundown of how things will flow — what we’re shooting first, where we’re going, and when to switch outfits or locations. I’ll help manage the time so we get the most out of every setup.
And don’t worry about posing or not knowing what to do with your hands (everyone says that!). I’ll guide you every step of the way to help you feel confident and look amazing.
Most sessions are scheduled in the early morning or late afternoon when sunlight is softer and more flattering. That golden glow gives your photos a natural, warm look without harsh shadows.
To make your images really pop, I also bring pro-level portable lighting. It helps me balance natural light with just the right amount of flash, so your photos are clean, sharp, and vibrant.
My sessions are relaxed, interactive, and fun. This is your moment — and we’re going to make the most of it.
What to Bring
Bring your outfits (neatly packed and wrinkle-free), any accessories or props that reflect your personality, a touch-up kit (lip balm, hairbrush, etc.), and someone who hypes you up if that helps you feel your best. I’ll remind you of all this beforehand so nothing gets forgotten.
